The Viking ship „Sigyn“ is a largely faithful replica of a merchant ship sunk in the Roskilde Fjord near Skuldelev in the 11th century.

Built entirely in Scheswig, it is an ambassador for the city of Schleswig, the Schlei region, and the World Heritage Site, as well as an inclusive project of the „Schleswiger Werkstätten“.

An important element in the preservation and operation of the „Sigyn“ is the „Freundeskreis Schleswiger Wikingerschiffe“; a loosely organized group of interested, dedicated volunteers who contribute their knowledge and free time. Interested parties can also experience the ship for themselves as sailing guests at certain times as well as visiting the ship at the viking days in Schleswig or watch it participate in the Rum Regatta in Flensburg.
